BDNY Brings the Best in Boutique Hotel Design to New York
Boutique Design New York (BDNY), the leading trade fair and conference for boutique hotel design, was held November 9–10, 2025, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City. The annual event brings designers, architects, purchasing agents, hoteliers, owners, and developers together with inventive manufacturers of interior design elements for hospitality.
The two-day exhibition features a wide array of cutting-edge design elements, ranging from textiles and furniture to lighting and artwork. Some of these design elements are incorporated into lounges, cafes, and gathering spaces throughout the trade fair. These spaces are created by leading hospitality and design teams using products from multiple vendors. Châlet Après by Marriott and BHDM Design, for example, “blends rustic elegance with urban sophistication” as it whisks guests from Manhattan to a snowy mountain retreat. Similarly, the Dine & Design Pavilion is a fully functioning café space dedicated to front-of-house restaurant and bar design. Buyers can visit the café to source furnishings, fixtures, lighting, surfaces, tabletop elements, and accessories.
The show also offers a series of educational sessions about best practices, industry challenges, and design trends. 2025 topics included AI, inclusive design, sensory science and neuroaesthetics, and ultra-luxury immersive experiences. In addition, BDNY celebrates the exhibitors and partners leading the charge toward a more sustainable design future. BDNY exhibitors marked with the “sustainability” icon are recognized for their dedication to responsible sourcing, ethical production, and environmentally conscious innovation. One 2025 sustainable exhibitor was Saguez & Dash, which created a space for the BDNY Mainstage using carpet made from recycled fishing nets, polywood chairs crafted from recyclable polyethylene, and recyclable furniture derived from recycled paper.
Booth pricing for the 2025 event ranged from $5,1000 to $39,740 depending on type (standard or premium) and size, and these packages include access to exhibitor resources before, during, and after the event. First, exhibitors receive complimentary two-day Trade Fair passes to give to clients and VIPs interested in attending BDNY. Additionally, Lead Capture is available through the official BDNY app. This technology, which does not require a WiFi connection, enables exhibitors to scan badges and collect attendee information from their personal devices. At the end of the trade fair, exhibitors can make donations to Housing Works, BDNY’s official Charity Donation Partner.
Exhibitors are also invited to participate in the Best of BDNY Product Design Competition, which recognizes manufacturers of products that demonstrate functionality, aesthetic progress, and innovation in their respective categories. Winners and finalists, selected
onsite by a panel of judges, are prominently featured in the winter issue of Boutique Design, online on hospitalitydesign.com, and via e-blast to the Boutique Design magazine subscriber list.
BDNY’s 2024 show brought together 15,719 buyers, exhibitors, guests, and press. 10,212 attendees were qualified buyers, and 776 brands from 46 countries were exhibited. Most international suppliers are from Europe and South America, but BDNY is hoping to attract more Asian suppliers to the 2026 show (they are eager to explore “chinoiserie” designs). Taiwanese companies can capitalize on this unique opportunity to connect with boutique hospitality brands and designers.
